    1. While the book gives lots of info about Yoga Nidra, some of the info is stated as being very important that it is done in a specific way, when I have had many Nidra experiences that were not done in the way described and I found those experiences very powerful and effective. Also, the imagery and wording of the scripts is not geared toward the western world and some imagery would be meaningless to many of us. I will say what I always say: take what works and leave the rest. Also, it was only afte [...]

    2. Yoga nidra literally means “yogic sleep,” and it’s a technique in which one systematically pursues a high degree of relaxation. Still, it’s a bit of a misnomer in that one doesn’t actually fall asleep. In theory, that is, most practitioners will have the experience of falling asleep at some point in practice. That’s because one is entering a hypnagogic state in which one is on the leading edge of falling asleep. It’s not always easy to stay on one side of that line (without being e [...]

    3. This book on Yoga Nidra, is highly recommended if you are at all curious to learn more about it. First of all its fascinating, and eminently readable. Second of all its packed with science that documents the efficacy of yoga nidra. You really get a sense of the author as human being with heart and it also gives you a sense of the full range of ways yoga nidra can be applied to deconstruct egoic attachment in a 'hypnogogic' state, so you can understand why it could be an option to do a lot of this [...]

    4. The practice of yoga nidra (yogic 'sleep', a form of guided meditation into the Self) these last four months has already begun to alter my patience, sincerity, and understanding of life. My mind is starting to go to those places more readily wants more and more of those places or the changeless aspect of our life that we continue to bury under a fast-paced, driven lifestyle. With the practice and knowledge of yoga nidra through this Bihar School of Yoga publication, you begin to be able to teach [...]

    5. "Dans la vie courante, la plupart des gens ne sont pas à l'écoute, mais en yoga nidra, le mental passe par une phase de réceptivité intense. on peut comparer cette étape à la fonte du fer qu'on veut couler dans un moule particulier. Dans la séance de yoga nidra, vient le passage où le mental fond : à ce moment précis, on le charge d'excellentes impressions créatrices. La réceptivité mentale s'éveille lorsque les dissipations sont annulées et l'opération se fait par modification d [...]

    6. I thought this was a good book. A clear description of what the practice is, how to put someone through the practice, and then details of how the practice of this deep relaxation benefits a person physically and emotionally. I did not know what yoga nidra was until I read this and now I feel I have a pretty clear understanding of it.

    7. Source text on meditation technique Yoga Nidra. Not always easy to read, but any other book on this topic derives from this one. Very interesting method. Part of the book are texts of actual meditations.

    8. Great information, good scripts. The scripts are a bit too ethnocentric to be used as is for a class of American students; some rewriting and translating is required. Although there are different lengths of class scripts, it's helpful to find some guinea pigs and time yourself while reading the script. The short script takes about 25 minutes to complete, which doesn't make it "short" in my mind.

    9. If you want to approach the Yoga Nidra technique both as a Yoga teacher or as a student, this is probably the best book you can find to help you. A general overview of yoga opens the book going then to the Yoga Nidra explained in detail. A few examples of Yoga Nidra practice complete the book that is a must-have for those enjoying the practice.

    10. I had once lived in a Yoga Ashram on the banks of the river Brahmaputra for 1 month and perfected my Yoga practives under the guidance of an authentic Guru. I never came across a Yoga Nidra lesson in those training sessions. Yoga Nidra appears to be a combination of Savasana and a self awareness creation program. I tried it while reading and found the technique okay.

    11. Yoga Nidra is the foundation of my Yoga classes. I teach all the postures leading up to this practice. People in our society tend to crash instead of relax. Consciously sleeping gives deep rest. Some people say it is the deepest they have rested since they were children. This book is the best on this topic.

    12. Absolutely essential reading for anyone interested in yoga nidra. Includes explanation about the structure of the practice, why it was designed that way, many full example practices, and even scientific discussion of how it works on mind and body.

    13. Loved the writing. Lots to take away from this book without having to digest everything at once. Plenty of yoga nidra exercises and advice to get you going on that path whether teaching or practicing alone.

    14. A great resource for those interested in delving deeply into the world of yoga nidra. This is a handbook for me now in teaching YN classes. It has historical information the practice, physiological and psychological effects of YN as well as some different practices.

    15. Good intro, but is mainly scripts for the actual application. Would have liked more theory and examples of use-cases.

    16. Fascinating facts about the mind, consciousness and different states of the mind (sleep, dreams and yoga nidra)

    17. Astoundingly thorough and comprehensive. I've been offering yoga nidra following the guidelines of this book every other week for 5 years. My students love it!

    18. A very good resource for yoga nidra, explained very clearly, easy to read. This is a book I would recommend to anyone wishing to know more about yoga nidra.
